nailed it. I'm no longer looking for "fellow Americans," I'm looking for other people of my nation that yet not exists.-

Real Americanism is hidden by whatever skin suit we're wearing now, and the closest thing to it are the militia LARPers who will die off before the country collapses. -

veff :trash: (veff@poa.st)'s status on Sunday, 14-Jul-2024 06:57:35 JST veff :trash: @BowsacNoodle @Griffith @sickburnbro @mischievoustomato I imagine americana will still exist, but aesthetics are the least of my concern. It's like saying "Italians aren't short fat mafiosas, the Sicilians just ruined their image" when Italian as a national identity is nebulous. They have Lombards, Ligurians, Venetians, Florentines, Romans, and everyone in between.
Generally the people who willingly brand themselves as american have little in common with my values. I'd rather look for the Appalacian Warriors, the Wild West Cowboys, the New England Whigs, and the Southern Rebels. They are my brothers, not "Americans."
