     These people hate journalists but appreciate humor. If you make them laugh you might be able to win them over.
     
     There's a rift on the Fediverse with two sides: free speech and pro-censorship. The two sides are normally disconnected due to the pro-censorship side coordinating blocks with #fediblock. We call it "The Great Wall of Mastodon." I am also blocked.
     
     I think what's happening right now is culture shock. Your server is federating with both sides, and people are trying to bully you into one side. But if you stick it out, it would help heal the divide on the Fediverse.

     I don't want us to become the thing that we hate. We're all here cuz we got bullied off other platforms because of our opinions and views. I wouldn't replicate that behavior.

     They're also low-hanging fruit for any journo with a good sense of humor and a spine to make fun of them and make them laugh. Maybe it will work out all right.
     
     There aren't many journalists writing anything adjacent to politics or cultural analysis with those qualities, but there are a few.
