@Conan_Kudo @MothWaves @luana @drewdevault sure but i meant the general population. if i wandered about in public and asked people what matrix was and then asked what discord was, most would know discord more than matrix.
another issue: i believe it also has the same issue of closed communities that discord has. at one point, most troubleshooting and dev talk for projects was indexable by search engines (forums, reddit, issue trackers,etc). matrix/discord (and irc, kinda) walls that off.
