   I sympathize with ppl not in the US wondering why there is no immediate revolution in the US, but like have you heard of the FBI or seen how our police work.

     And like when you do, being able to keep meeting there when the person who owns it gets arrested, your members are under FBI surveillance, the public is being manipulated in opposition by an algorithmic war machine, and so on. Ruling class has a lot of tricks to kill leftist organizing before it even starts. We still do it but ya theres a reason there is no mass leftist movement in the US and it aint strictly incompetence

     @jonny People complain about how we talk online and don't organize in person.

     Every left group I know struggles to find a physical meeting place. If you want a meeting of more than three or four people, there are very few places available.

     @jonny also the left here is totally compromised by a variety of authoritarian and fash-aligned tendencies as well as all kinds of accelerationists and hero cults. Which isn't helping... At least the unions look like some of them are starting to wake up

     Yeah, I mean look at the college encampments and the amount of state violence that such relatively harmless resistance was met with (and mob violence allowed/encouraged by the agents of the state).

     Not to mention that our police are better supplied and kitted out than most countries' actual militaries.

     Yeah do the freaking bobbies show up by the thousand in full riot gear and no ROE and fire rubber bullets and launch 500 flashbangs when a few hundred students camp out in the lawn, and then follow it up with intense surveillance and a counterinfo campaign to discredit them?

     @jonny It's not an accident either. A lot of the ways cities and housing are organized in the US is specifically designed to isolate people and control movement, like suburbs and corporate campuses.
