the problem with labeling things conspiracies that get proven true immediately is that it makes "conspiracy" lose power as an invective.

@CaptainFuggetaboutit again "nothing ever happens" isn't a safe bet, it's a cowardly bet. The safe bet is "things happen rarely but unexpectly, so I'll place a cheap hedge"

I don't know man the whole thing with Boeing being proven true within two weeks still has my conservative coworkers going "it is what it is" and I'm like no it's not what it is. People died and it is not safe to fly right now. "Okay anon *chuckles* I can't believe anon doesn't know that it is what it is"
There's definitely more people that believe conspiracy historians now though. I really do hope that a happening happens in 2025 but nothing ever happens seems like a safe bet

@CaptainFuggetaboutit moving isn't a cheap hedge, that's extremely expensive.

The rare happening is probably a scheduled false flag rather than uprising. Predictable. Easily avoided. Nothing to (most) poeple who can't afford to go out much anyways. The cheap hedge more often than not is moving before a state gets too dangerous rather than stockpiling ammo past normal 1v5 niggers home defense levels.

@CaptainFuggetaboutit a cheap hedge is like, buying a used motorcycle.

It's cheaper than ammo if you only take what you need. I left behind most of my furniture. I brought books, 2 bookshelves, a mattress with no box spring, my clothes, and my computer. Ate ramen for 2 years and worked min wage. It's possible if you hate living in a place enough.

@CaptainFuggetaboutit you left behind furniture and had to buy new when you arrived. That alone is going to be several times the cost of a used minimal bike.
You then need to factor in lost time due to moving and finding a new job if you can't keep your old, finding a place to stay, etc.

That's half the cost of moving
Better to just move
Not to mention cost of repairing a used motor vehicle cause something will be broken. So back up to the same price.

@CaptainFuggetaboutit you can get a *running* mid 90s bike for less than 2k if you spend a little time searching.

@petra @CaptainFuggetaboutit My point is this isn't a "hedge"

@CaptainFuggetaboutit @sickburnbro I understand what you're saying. I've done the same. Weighing the costs and benefits can depend on personal circumstances.

I didn't buy furniture. Not for 5 years. Didn't need it. And when I moved I moved me and my dad so theoretically it could be even cheaper to move if you live alone.
