  The Calvinist view of predestination always seemed odd to me. That you can't be un-saved and that if you ever did fall from grace then you weren't really saved in the first place, because people who are saved are guaranteed to choose the path of salvation from that point onward.   It's like some people choose to wilfully disregard Jesus's teachings and gaslight themselves into believing that they're a good Christian and following God's path. Lots of boomers fall into this category.

  Their theology is pretty dumb, but as far as Christians go they actually do stuff in their community, are very family oriented, have their own non-pozzed version of Cub Scouts, are implicitly pretty racially aware. That is, aside from the ones who don't fall off the wagon, since they fall off super hard.
