i should be able to tell my intance that yes, in fact - I do want to follow this person and see their notifications - particularly if they are not on a blocked instance
in this case, kolectiva.social (or whatever it is)
@BeAware @dannotdaniel We're talking about Mastodon dot Social right? What about that is a public service or publicly hosted?
It's owned and operated by a company or individual, right? One that pays another entity for bandwidth, and chooses to have open sign ups for its forum?
I'm not seeing the public portion any more than a coffee shop is a public space
If I'm misunderstand, please help me out. I'm confused because moderating content on a site you own and operate seems reasonable to me
