  @sun @jeffcliff there's only one Costco there IIRC and it's a goddamn nightmare to get to because NYC roads and traffic is awful, so I'm surprised they could actually get away with anything haha

  @sun @jeffcliff that one was a lie, they said it was theft but it wasn't. They closed the one with poor sales and low theft and kept others open with higher sales and high theft

  @feld @jeffcliff only shrink numbers from the individual stores can tell us, but target is never going to share that information. I get a bad vibe off these articles but I can't place exactly why. self-reported survey from retailers around the country don't tell you what the shrink is in a store in harlem

    On September 26, Target announced it was closing nine stores "because theft and organized retail crime are…contributing to unsustainable business performance." Target said that before making the decision to close stores, it "invested heavily in strategies to prevent and stop theft and organized retail crime." But ultimately, the company asserted, those efforts were not enough to make those stores "successful."
