@SDF I’ve been geoblocked from trying this so far no direct experience. But Threads has reciprocal problems to mastodon. Too many voices all yelling into the void. Deaf to conversation.
Here it’s too few voices to build any larger conversation. You can work hard on some fun and it goes out to the desert and dies. Symptoms include seeing 11 posts in a row from one user today!
I’m not exactly sure what would happen. But if the bridge was optional I would turn it on to find out. #fediverse

@lardmotel @SDF it is down at the moment, however, I think this might change if threads eventually stops fucking around and *actually* integrates AP correctly.
Currently, replies are only shown to the OP and ONLY if they are the only one mentioned in the post. So, it's like a DM that's public on Fedi, but private on Threads.🤦♂️
I see this going VERY bad. However, your complaint was that you saw 11 posts in a row from one user. Is that on the Federated feed? I'd think it was a bot or someone just posting a thread due to character limits. Maybe spam, but if you go to mastodon.social and look at the federated feed, its quite active.

@SDF @BeAware when I come here I go to the big federated feed and roll through everything for at least a few minutes looking for some souls I might have missed that look worth following.
You already know that 15m accounts doesn’t mean 15m active voices. The number of active accounts sometimes grows but it shrinks as well. It seems down at the moment but I have no stats.

@SDF If it was *actual* federation and worked as it was supposed to, i'd be ecstatic. However, this fake integration crap is starting to piss me off.
Replies are only shown to the OP, not public. And if the user replies to a reply, it doesn't get federated.🤬 🤦♂️

@BeAware @SDF It is very active. I should be clear that I’m just one user with quite specific interests that aren’t being met and so offering to be made a Guinea pig to see if federation is a good or bad idea.

@SDF The blurb says it should work but I am not seeing the icon that is supposed to be now on the Threads interface. Probably Error 1 ‘Australia is not worth the trouble’.
