   There is a core of affluent white conservative and centrist Democrats who care more about the appearance of propriety than whether anyone can eat or have basic rights and who swerve right at the first whiff of controversy or if AIPAC or the Chamber of Commerce say "boo."

     @gwynnion this seems spot on (as do many of your observations). it seems that many of the people with the power to lead and make changes act as if whatever is happening now will blow over. I don't believe that is true, but I am also dependent on aspects of the status quo.

     Saw one of them asking why Biden should attack all Republicans over abortion when Trump is the real problem and I just wanted to say: "ALL REPUBLICANS AGREE ON THIS SHIT, YOU FUCKING MORON."

     The GOP is killing people and these "liberals" want to know why they can't still be friends with them.

     These people are so insulated by virtue of privilege and wealth that they care about theoretical questions of democracy and fairness and not what to do about a fascist movement that aims to exterminate a significant portion of the country, with whom they don't always seem to disagree.

     Remember 2016 when Bernie Sanders and his yokels handed Trump the keys to the White House? It's the people advocating / voting Green / Independent / 3rd party / "never centrist Dems" who bring about the real horror in the U.S. Because they prevent the little that is still possible to achieve.
     
     (Who do you think stuffed the Supreme Court with these current judges? And who handed him the power to so? Idiots in the swing states in 2016 who refused to vote Democrat.)
