@ReverendMoose regulation doesn't (usually) provide income to the state that can be redistributed to impacted citizens, though.

Among the more popular current usages of AI you've got LLMs. I don't think there enough proven utility in LLMs to nationalize them. But if there was I would be okay with nationalizing it. So overall qualified no.
Regulated more comprehensively would be a strong yes, as I think that's more appropriate given the current state of things.
