     @darnell so, this is an interesting question.

     I think if you understand an election as a way to collectively choose a person to hold a particular role, what you say makes sense.

     But I don't think everyone understands elections that way.

     For many of us, it's a snapshot in time of our personal identity. Who am I? Am I a Democrat? A Green? A Trump fan? A Libertarian?

     Even on a personal level, it's about you and the candidate. What is my parasocial relationship with Donald Trump? Am I the type of person who would have Joe Biden as an imaginary friend?

     @evan I guess politics ultimately is transactional, as it is a “What will this candidate do for me if elected‽” deal.

     From my talks with family, friends, & coworkers, many are either disappointed or enraged with #JoeBiden, as #Biden’s positive policies have not alleviated their economic situations.

     However, most of them realize that if #DonaldTrump gets in, it will be chaos within the #UnitedStates 🇺🇸, as #Trump & the #GOP will target segments of #America 🇺🇸 with intense cruelity.
