     "... interesting, though, that #Tumangang is a North #Korean border town from which the only railroad line to #Russia runs across the #Tumen River to #Khassan across the Korea–Russia Friendship Bridge.
     Putin is therefore selling territories that do not belong to him. 😅

     OFC he's not selling foreign territory. That was meant ironically Tumangan is, by my research neither in the RF, nor is it a river. I had hoped they'd correct it in the post. Also, I'd like to see a physical map of the region.

     Furthermore, the Kremlin has been working on its own demise ever since the invaded #Ukraine.

     BTW, what service do use for posting? It provides me with the quote post layout in Tusky (for Mastodon) that was supposed to be implemented last August.

     Why do you think? They loose the direct border with Korea while China gets easily territory from RF, wins a direct connection to the Japanese Sea, completes the border with North Korea and so can control the exchange of goods between N.Korea and RF. And last but not least China does not need to get these territories by force 😀
     A real multiwin-situation for China and a pure loss for RF but also for North Korea not really a win. But no selling of not belonging territories.

     I concur with your analysis.
     I had even predicted something of this sort happening two years ago.
     I had expected it to be the first the formerly #Chinese territories in the north-east...and without any payment. 😉

     Yes the river is not named Tumangan, its name is Tumen and this river builds the border between N-Korea and RF.
