   During a heatwave, please check on your neighbours.

   If you are experiencing this heat wave and have neighbours who lack air conditioning, please think about taking the time to bring them into your home for a short break, or drive them somewhere they can cool down.

   Seniors, chronically ill, disabled, and children are especially vulnerable to heat stroke.

     I am so sorry to hear this.
     I was targeting my post to people like your neighbours because you are one of the people who need a break.
     I am familiar with those portable ac units and they can't keep up with this heat.
     Did you happen to see my post about how to cope in the heat without air conditioning? If not, I would be happy to send a link.

     Well, we have it, but only a portable machine that's only powerful enough for the bedroom.

     Thanks. I am alright so far. I stay inside with the window shades closed and our blackout curtains closed- they are very heavy so they keep out the heat. There is some air conditioning running through our building into each unit so it's tolerable. I feel bad for people who are without AC because in this humidity even fans no longer cool the body and that is dangerous.
     I will be relieved when the weather breaks.

     I'm glad to hear that.

     I was talking to a A/C vendor today:

     Only a split unit or at least a mobile with an outside connection can reduce the room 🌡 temperature.
