   @catraxx Engaging with a music post requires listening to the audio, and that's a time committment and potentially conflicts with other things the person is already listening to or with where they are, such as public transport. Compared to your random word example, where you can react to it just from reading it instantly and silently, the numbers are bound to be different.

     @Gargron @catraxx that really is the key bit, but there's also contextualizing it in advance. I've been writing small music posts for quite some time, and off and on reviews for a few decades in different venues. Given how sprawling my tastes are, part of the post often gives really clear context as to whether something is going to be artsy pop from the UK, thrash metal from the US, or a specific stripe of fusion from some "far-flung corner" of the globe.

     That way the audience can "get sorted"
