@evan To your knowledge, would it be possible in AP to pass along or enforce restrictions on who can reply to a post? i.e. no replies allowed, or only a list of approved users reply? If it doesn't support that now, could it be added?

@bamfic absolutely. Big thing is letting OP control a list of canonical replies. WordPress does a good job with this.

@bamfic sort of. The OP's server keeps a list of replies to a post, which is available to remote servers. However, Mastodon keeps its own list of replies on the remote server instead. Using the OP's replies list would let OP's server (and OP) control what appears there. No changes necessary. However, we can also add an advisory flag that says what kind of replies will be accepted, which doesn't yet exist.

@evan Is it already possible in the spec now or would it need a change?
And I assume the various software would in any case need to expose the feature to users.
