   You can criticize Israel and its current far right fascist leaning government without invoking nazism or the holocaust. The trauma and pain of the holocaust is still present and your comparisons only serve to maliciously pour salt in wounds we have only begun to heal from.
   
   Jews do it all the time. The word fascist is literally right in the name.

     @gavi@grimgreenfo.rest People genuinely forget how influential the party was. Hitler Youth was specifically designed to indoctrinate children who did not know any better into the Nazi ideology. Not every member of the party was a full proponent either. There's a difference between the people charged in the Nuremberg trials and kids who were forced into the Nazi youth. The Nazis did not have some sort of "dead eyes" or weird anti social behavior. They acted as anyone else, your friendly neighbor and so forth. To people who were torn by WW1 Hitler had some very convincing arguments (people want to believe that there's a way out, people want to believe there's an easy fix that's why the party was so effective). There's so much more that went into it that people just do not have any sort of understanding, or respect for. I do not respect the nazis. I do understand they had very effective techniques to mislead people into their ideology, stuff that if you were there at the time could very easily buy into as long as you were not part of the groups they were advocating out.

     @gavi@grimgreenfo.rest Or the fact that the holocaust was a massive tragedy taking the lives of >6 million. Watering down the word "Holocaust", "Nazism" does nothing to help prevent future tragedy. You can make parallels between how modern day fascists use the same tactics as the Nazis did. It does nothing to say "Oh they're Nazis". That just waters down the word, it's the same thing as saying every little disruption in government proceedings is an insurrection. We have a word for "holocausts of different people" it's called genocide. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rwandan_genocide we have used it to classify events before. Not everything needs to go back to "Oh this is directly related to the holocaust". (Some of it is directly tied back to the holocaust such as the relocation of European Jewish folk. That does not mean that this is the Holocaust 2.0).

     Why are you people on here so obsessed with comparing what’s going on Israel and Palestine to the holocaust or nazism whilst actively ignoring the Jewish leftists on here who tell that you’re fucking harming us? Is it really that difficult for you to actually to listen to Jews for once in your life?
     
     The holocaust and nazism are not the sole representation of human evil. There are other comparisons you can make if you really need to do that.
     
     You claim to say you would punch a nazi and defend Jews, but you’re giving antisemites the red carpet and alienating Jewish leftists from your conversations here.
