     @King_Noticer @Tactical I don't even hate magic in fantasy, but it's a means to an end or plot not a substitute. I thought "Bright" was a decent movie, and it had fantastical magic. But it wasn't "wowee magic" and was instead "elves are jews and orcs are doubleniggers".

     Magic systems in fantasy literature are fine if they are logically consistent and stick to their logical limitations.

     If it's "wizard can do whatever I need here for the plot" - that's just low effort BS.
