@fedilist We keep this shit up and fedi's gonna be all Wordpress. Of the currently active instances, 6,330 were created this year. Of those, 3,442 were Wordpress, 54.3%, and the closest runner-up, Mastodon, was a paltry 996. Of all 29,500 active instances, Mastodon still has the largest chunk (11,080, 37.5%), but Wordpress is now at 26.2% with 7,738 instances.
That kinda thing makes me wonder if Fedilist should even bother with Wordpress. It's broadcast-only, the Wordpress ActivityPub plugin doesn't seem to result in much two-way interaction like the rest of fedi, and most of the Wordpress blogs are promotional. I don't wanna inject opinions into Fedilist, so I will probably leave it as-is, but it also feels like, you know, we're hitting 30k instances, and if a quarter of those are just Wordpress spam blogs, the number loses a little significance.
@p@fedilist >It's broadcast-only At least a few comments from other side of fedi federated to pawlicker's blog. https://pleromanonx86.wordpress.com/comments/feed/ But yeah, two-way interaction is limited. Don't know if it's because of premoderation, g*rman ass-scratching like GDPR or what else.
