Here's a glimpse of a project I'm working on.
@thatonecalculator is helping me with this. It's incredibly slick!
Here's a glimpse of a project I'm working on.
@thatonecalculator is helping me with this. It's incredibly slick!
@thatonecalculator I've administered multiple Fediverse instances, and this one has the best-looking UI that I've seen yet. Big Social better be scared!
@atomicpoet @thatonecalculator
Woah! I didn't realize how clean and polished CalcKey's UI is. Very nice!
@RyuukaShinrai@social.tchncs.de @atomicpoet@mastodon.social Not only does it have a dark theme, but you can also make your own themes! By default, it chooses your browser theme.
@atomicpoet @thatonecalculator This looks promising. Though it needs a dark theme. But please please keep in mind to keep it low on resources. Pleroma/Akkoma is a good standard to go by. People are already struggling with hardware requirements for their hosting servers so this has to be adressed. Take your time with it and make it good.
@MrsMouse@social.dsmouse.net @atomicpoet@mastodon.social Feel free to choose an instance! https://calckey.fediverse.observer/list
@atomicpoet @thatonecalculator
I.. want.
@atomicpoet@mastodon.social @RyuukaShinrai@social.tchncs.de Yep! You can resize it by dragging each column in the Deck UI
@RyuukaShinrai @thatonecalculator Users can change their UI to a multi-column set-up. I'm not sure about changing width, though.
@atomicpoet @thatonecalculator As for reference i photoshopped what kind of layout i would want if that helps in any way.
@atomicpoet@mastodon.social @RyuukaShinrai@social.tchncs.de well, that was stock Misskey's work ^^"
@thatonecalculator @RyuukaShinrai Wow! You've really thought about everything!
@RyuukaShinrai@social.tchncs.de @atomicpoet@mastodon.social If you're talking about server requirements, my big instance (450ish users) runs on 130mb ram. It can probably handle up to 100,000 users, if not more, because of worker scaling and sharding. ElasticSearch is supported but not required.
@thatonecalculator @atomicpoet How do the requirements for hardware look? Does it work on 512mb ram? How well does it handle a more than a thousand users? Which kind of search functions are possible and are there drawbacks on functionality compared to mastodon?
@sks316@yiff.life @atomicpoet@mastodon.social @MrsMouse@social.dsmouse.net it's pretty easy to set up, from source is easy but there's also docker-compose and a docker hub image. I also offer managed hosting!
@thatonecalculator @atomicpoet @MrsMouse I may just have to spin up my own Calckey instance in the future...
@kennon@tabletop.vip @atomicpoet@mastodon.social New federated service, Calckey! You can try out any of these instances: https://calckey.fediverse.observer/list
@atomicpoet @thatonecalculator
That looks really slick! Is it just an interface for Masto or a new federated service entirely?
@kennon@tabletop.vip @atomicpoet@mastodon.social (btw, it's based on Misskey and runs on ActivityPub, so it interfaces with Mastodon/etc just fine)
@kennon @thatonecalculator It's a new instance I'm running based on Calckey.
