   She: "Nah you didn't, it was more of a self-fulfilling prophecy"

     @bazkie Could be a bit of both, but some people (me, for example, it's a fucking problem) are very prone to pulling ghosting and semi-ghosting moves at the least opportunity, and this feels like that.

     A vaguely plausible but low-explanation out presented itself, and she went for it.

     (I may be projecting, however. Also, I'm feeling misanthropic today. Zero benefits of doubt. Sorry you got jerked around, there, that sucks.)
