     @gobsmacked It's already available on home video in Japan and it has been showing in theaters there for about a year now.

     Typical Toho delaying international rights until now.

     @Streakmachine It's already out in Japan for about a year plus now and home video shortly thereafter. Typical Toho deciding to wait over a year plus to finally giving it a go outside Japan.

     I'll let you know since a home video release is happening via Criterion in the US and BFI in the UK if you can't make it to theaters.

     @joeo10 Yeah, sounds like par for the course, sadly.

     Checked the local independent theater and the bigger one in the city, but none appear to be showing Seven Samurai any time soon, or the rest of the year. I did find they will be showing ‘The Blood Throne’ though, which was unexpected.

     I’ll probably pick up the Blu-ray once it’s available. I prefer to be my own Netflix, so to speak.
