Newsflash tho; nobody who has ever used the phrases "social justice warrior/SJW," "virtue signaling," or "woke mob," without a heavy dose of irony being involved, has anything of value to offer you, the discourse, or the world at large.
It's honestly that simple. Don't give your energy to shit people who absolutely never discuss any of the dogshit they pretend to be "cocerned" about in good faith. You can't fix "disgusting," only they can. The only way those ppl learn is leaving them behind.

Every single truly reformed reactionary I ever met in my ENTIRE life, and they're rare, but they do exist, has a version of their history that starts with "and then one day I looked around and realized everyone I cared about had left me and the only people still willing to tolerate my bullshit were a bunch of nazis."
For the same reason you don't debate nazis, you don't try to hug them out of fascism and fascist ideology. It doesn't work, it just validates their behavior. Walk away.

You're never going to argue someone down off a position, directly.
The absolute best, and this is terribly rare, is if you make a good point, and walk away, and *period of time* later they suddenly realize 'fuck, they were completely right'.
If you want that goal, try to think of a memorable, pithy, well phrased and persuasive point. If you don't have one yet, don't bother to reply. There will be another nazi later. Time your bon mot and leave it as an emotional landmine

@Oggie I mean fuck, setting nazism aside, this is one of the few ways *I* learn. It's part of why I like books - I can't argue with the book, or get emotional about it; okay I can, but it doesn't DO anything. But factually, I learn more when I have to sit with what I've heard for a while before I respond.

Oh yes, in the heat of the moment, almost nobody can just say 'WEll, fuck, you just dismantled my argument that I was emotionally tied to, now I am entirely on your side.'
A few minutes/hours/days later you come back and say 'damn, you had a good point'. Or you can say 'Okay, give me a moment on that' to give yourself emotional distance on it. But generally you can't disentangle yourself immedately.
But you can leave presents and have someone realize you were right, later

@WhistlingTreason Absolutely. A lot of folks were pretty surprised in 2014 when I started telling people in my life "I don't think we should hang out anymore because I'm tired of getting your dogshit on me, and I'm tired of you using me as a shield to do nazi shit."
Lotta "okay but you're one of the GOOD trans people" folks got their walking papers very soon after I realized "wait, it's just fascism? Holy shit you fucking losers."
