@TrevorGoodchild @Starprophet1 @Paleface @RanchWifey @Charles_in_Charge @epictittus Give it a few years, and they'll be paying with currencies like the following:

    - We will feed you everyday
    - We will give you a uniform to wear
    - We will provide a bed to sleep on, indoors
    - We will erase your criminal records
    - We will allow your teaching civilians about respect

They might not have cash, but if no one else does either then they won't need it. Just a matter of "Do What We Say And You Can Keep What You Take."

    Very, very old school.

I wouldn’t trust a yuan even if it was made from solid gold

Regimes like Venezuela had to pay their army and police in hard currency (USD). But with the fall of the USD itself, the USG will have nothing to pay its soldiers.

During hyperinflation in Brazil in the 80s and early 90s we had to run ahead of the guy with the sticker machine to get the products before the price changed.

@epictittus @RanchWifey I was a kid when grocery stores introduced bar code scanners at the check out. Before that ever item had a sticker with the price on it, and the check out girl punched every number in by hand. I remember my mom and grand mother being very skeptical.

Under the old system, they basically memorized the cost of every item they were buying, and they would watch the check out lady like a hawk to make sure she got all the prices right. They were convinced the new bar code/laser scan system was going to be used by the stores to tack on a few extra cents here and there, and because it all happened in the computer instead of out in the open, they wouldn't know about it until they got home and went over the receipt. Big grocery was going to screw over the little guy with their fancy, sneaky new technology, and rake in millions every year via cheating.

I was a fetus when this happened, but I have family who remembers when the local supermarkets first used barcodes. A lot of people just walked off into the wilderness and never came back because they thought that was too much government control.

QR is even more annoying, its just a link or some text so why put it in a code.
