"However, when it comes to sending private photos, there’s an even better way than messaging apps...#ProtonDrive."
Please explain, why ProtonDrive is more secure sharing photos than #Threema Libre. (Apart from the expiration date.
A password only helps, if the end-users' smartphone enables it. Once downloaded to the phone, it's as secure or less (you will always download a pic from a drive, whereas you don't need to in the Yhreema timeline.)

Thanks for pointing this out, I did read that.
However, IF s.o. with access rights can also download and thus re-share my pics (standard procedure, I'd) say, there is no increased security by a web drive solution in comparison to e2e encryption. In fact, screenshotting would also need to be disabled for the pics to be more secure.
Other than that, having them in a Threema or Signal TL is as secure as the least protected smartphone in this chain. No PW'll change that.
@HistoPol @protonprivacy 3 paragraph down it gives 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 answer.. "If you send a private photo through Proton Drive, you control who can see it. Not only is the link encrypted, but you can also set a password, set an expiration date, or turn sharing off with a single click."
@HistoPol @protonprivacy I agree and they even recommend Signal or Threema. I think the argument for "better" would be on certain circumstances that a messenger app is not ideal. Like having shared albums. But the blog is mostly about promoting the services, bring awareness that's an option.
All rigk ht, if you have non-constant groups that you want to share folders with, a web drive is more convenient.
However, forming e.g. a "FamilyFotos" group in a messenger service, also serves the same purpose.
The only advantages I see are a) uncompressed pics and b) user stats.
