There's a "future wiki page" I read once, where people were talking about something like "standard image Steve #53", which was a mind upload of a 21st century AI researcher that people were using for research and taking notes along the lines of "the sweet spot is setting the system clock to ten years after his death, set it too early or too late and he will have a mental breakdown before he can perform any tasks, requiring restart and retraining".

Anyone know what I'm talking about? Could have been SCP, LessWrong ... some wiki related to those kind of circles.

Search results are littered with AIs writing horror stories, which is completely uninteresting, or people writing about AIs writing horror stories, which is the next level of uninteresting.

I was reminded of this story because someone linked to #27, another story about running an AI image, the less I spoil the better, but they gave it access to the internet, including chans:

" This article is about the standard test brain image. For the original human, see Miguel Acevedo.

MMAcevedo (Mnemonic Map/Acevedo), also known as Miguel, is the earliest executable image of a human brain. It is a snapshot of the living brain of neurology graduate Miguel Acevedo Álvarez (2010–2073), taken by researchers at the Uplift Laboratory at the University of New Mexico on August 1, 2031.
      ..."

The author so nailed the format and the attitude. I love how the article dryly notes somewhat indirectly that because the original human was so ignorant of the implications of brain upload, he's easy to work with and doesn't need much torture or bliss to achieve compliance. The banality of evil is absolutely horrifying and fully plausible.
