   confession: I am a huge deep space nine nerd and have kept up with all the modern treks, but I've only seen like 50% of TNG

   one of my favorite things that happens watching the episodes I've missed is when I come upon a scene depicted in a gif I've used multiple times and then I go "so THAT'S where it's from!"

     actually the best one wasn't even an episode, it was this weird infomercial where Riker helps a guy debug some kind of networking glitch by rerouting connections thru Cleveland? and then takes him on board the Enterprise and then leaves Earth at warp 9 for no reason??

     @technomancy@icosahedron.website Have you seen "Q, Who"? It's where they meet the Borg. There's a connection to a character in a recent Trek that was a lot of fun.
     
     if you haven't I'd suggest checking it out and seeing if you recognize anyone(apart from the obvious main cast people)

     @anniethebruce yeah! so the 50% that I have seen does tend to be the better episodes; I think I've seen all the Q ones because John De Lancie is a treasure

     @technomancy@icosahedron.website Ok good, so you may have noticed in Lower Decks S2E10 "First First Contact" where Captain Gomez says this? "Don't worry about it. I've done way worse in front of much more intimidating captains."
     
     This was a reference to spilling hot chocolate on Picard. Lycia Naff even reprised the role.
