     Why the fuck would they not (yet another reason to use distros tbh), also interestingly I forgot this thread in the months since my message in it.

     @lanodan@queer.hacktivis.me I just saw your post and wanted to say hi. Turned out I no longer needs to. :blobcatgoogly: This time, my problem is VTK upstream's OpenGL 2 backend, which affects a ton of scientific visualization programs...

     @niconiconi Interestingly I don't think I've ever used VTK, seems to be only an option in the few scientific tools I've used in the past.
