   @hyakinthos I don't know how common my situation is, but for what it's worth:

   I'll preface this by saying I'm almost 50, and I aggressively dislike the trend towards "you have to use our mobile app."

   That said, I *appreciate* that I can fire up an app to see how many machines are in use at my local laundromat. And I appreciate that I don't need to stop by an ATM and THEN put cash into a change machine to operate the machines.

     @killyourfm The app could be optional. The machine status could be published on a simple website. The electronic top-up bank could be an optional mechanism. There is no reason they cannot serve a cash payer (thus excluding no one) while also giving the extra frills opportunistically.
