@graf @That-Mushroom In the USA a lot of police stopped buying Ford because there were a lot of problems starting with the 2003-2004 Crown Vics. I was a big fan of them, I've owned models between 1996-2002.

@That-Mushroom perfection was already reached, 2003 model was the first of this body type, they put felt on top of the gas tank which resulted in pock mark pinhole rust in the gas tank and the dash was too narrow to have any radio other than the stock one until several years later when people gave up having cd players in cars in late 2010s

Car manufacturers today: "let's add more screens, sensors, and menus to navigate to operate the vehicle."

@sun @That-Mushroom yeah the 2003 was the one that had the felt on top of the gas tank. such a stupid design. even areas where rust isnt prevelant like california had massive pockmark issues

@graf @That-Mushroom I always got used police models because they had the speed governor removed, and they slightly modified the engine cabin layout to make it easier to maintain. Faster than any sports car I've owned, close to 160mph. Comfy seats. Always got a nice radio put in.
Sometimes I'd get them and they'd still have police parts on them like lights, pushbar and cage.
