@PopulistRight You aren't thinking about this from a larger view. You are understandably frustrated by his previous failings.
The reason the system has been able to get away with it is because a LACK of transactionality from conservatives. They have been willing to accept not getting anything back.
A shift to transactionality sufficiently changes the playing space: no more "muh constitution" but just "yeah, what are you going to do for me" - because without the appeal to ideals, there is limited room to suffer someone who doesn't produce the results you agreed upon.
