I mean yeah, twas four years ago, so fact that history is such a damnable challenge for most Usians gonna be a thing. But try 'n think back anyways.
The reason we got Vibe'n as Democratic nominee was that so many of that party assumed that he was the only candidate their peers would vote for.
Strategic voting based on the presumed ignorance of other Usians is how we got into this mess.
Using a lever to lock in injustice is abdication.

Foreign policy, foreign schmolecy. Call is coming from inside the white man's house. Problem is whiteness.
If the problem is that folk are insecure in their ignorance, if the problem is that folk are unprepared to process tough emotions, then the solution is to work on fostering emotional resiliency.
Forget force-feeding facts to folk. Put away appeals to certainty of logic.
Teach self-empathy. Model sitting uncomfortably with doubt. Develop strategies for public acts of collective #mourning.

To put it more bluntly, let's stop with the least-common denominator politics of overconfident mediocre white men.
They ain't need their levers pulled any more. Let them stroke their own engines.

If the problem is that many Americans feel insecure about how little they know, how exactly does advocating for choice that affirms their ignorance help anyone?
To be clear, this question is not meant as a liberal exhortation to educate folk. The problem isn't ignorance, it's insecurity.
That insecurity about one's ignorance: that's the problem to tackle.

But the whole idea that using a lever of power, in and of itself, is good: this is the insidious line.
Society is full of folk using levers of power at the behest of power.
Is how the trains kept running on their way to the camps.
Operating the machine that is killing folk in the name of protecting other folk from their discomfort at being ignorant of how they, like you, are complicit in the killing… Is. Not. Virtuous.
This is anti-CRT argument: don't teach history, it'd make white kids sad.
