At least in my accent, it's more fedi as in 'yeti' - the i is a long 'ee' as opposed to the short 'ih' that's the i in universe, which again from my Br-Eng southern England tongue, sounds like the Is in 'British'. I can't think of anyone who says it like you-knee-verse.
Fed-ee-verse, rather than fed-ih-verse. If that makes any sense..!
