     I've recently been hitting the limit on my Scaleway VPS, and , because its a legacy package, I can't expand it, and they want far too much for a new server.
     Hetzner is charging similar prices to what i pay now, but with more performance!
     Might look at switching over!

     @Gargron if you can swing it infrastructure and network wise, maybe it could be useful to spin up some temporary instances on equinix or similar while waiting on hetzner?

     their pricing is by the hour (and deploy in minutes), so might be a good fit to run for a few days or weeks?

     @Gargron It reminds me of the time when information was not instantaneous...
     On Mastodon, I send a postcard, I trust the latter to deliver it one of these four to those who will read it (or not!).
     In short, this delay (much more a lengthening of time) is not unpleasant.

     As on my island: my contractor will come by at the end of the week but has not indicated which one! But he will come!
     The proof? I have been his customer for six years and he has become a friend...

     Just curious, as I saw you mention this the other day, but what is the average delay time currently when trying to upload an image?

     I've been waiting around 15 minutes at the moment for a 236kb image to be uploaded and it's still processing. Hopefully it's getting close to being processed.

     @Gargron Wouldn't it be an idea to close Mastodon.social for a little while for new users, then weed out the accounts that are demanding changes but are not patreons, and those who break server rules. Then, what about partnering with a company or The European Commission? For a long term solution? Suppose this influx continues, and all the companies and trolls from Twitter also sign up to here. You might be too tired to think of a solution now, but trust me, do it before you crash.

     @Gargron Nothing to be sorry for! Thank you for your commitment and all your work. You made me curious and I will setup my own mastodon instance for research purposes. I had a unused vServer instance flying around with which I wasn’t unsure to cancel or to keep. #newhere

     I can provide via Free-Solutions Sàrl baremetal Linux Ubuntu servers with 32 cores 1U servers 128GB nvram storage. I always have one spare in advance. Just let me know if we may work together.
     Servers can be hosted in DC Switzerland with 1GB/s pipe or more. You will be granted full root access to physical host. I do think this make sense. Let's talk if this could be a win/win option.
