   Just beginning to watch season 1 of “Joy of Life” 🌸 It is still laying the foundations of the drama but there is already a sense of foreboding. Zhang Ruoyun has a very charismatic presence - slightly goofy but clever.

   Ting Meishi has a brooding, underplayed aspect that complements Zhang Ruoyun’s more mercurial character.

     @AnnaAnthro That sounds promising! I actually watched The Next Generation as a teenager… It was broadcast at 8 pm on Sundays. My best memory was that my parents came home from the supermarket … with a tiny puppy that they had picked up from boys who were selling them for a few dollars outside of Shoprite. Tiny was my best friend as a teenager!

     @Sollenbum Awwwww!!! I so remember how excited we were as kids when the spaniel on our street had a big litter and we got to pick one and bring it home! We spent soooo long getting her bed ready and thinking up the perfect name! Loooved that dog!!!

     @AnnaAnthro @Sollenbum Uncle Wu is my no.1 fav character in Joy of Life. I later saw the actor in other dramas and didn't realise it was him lol.

     @AnnaAnthro @liztai In season 1 he has disappeared for the time being but based on your comments, it would seems that he will be back.

     The characters are beginning to coalesce into patterns now but I’m still not sure where it’s all heading. I’m enjoying the acting, though…

     It will take some time before I make it to season 2 so it might have finished airing by the time I get to it…
