   @sashag @faithisleaping I had a very similar experience. I tried to imagine aging in a body and social category I didn't want, and what had previously felt like noble sacrifice was now...just regret. And the idea of knowing my memorial would be a bunch of people saying "What a good man he was." was just unbearable.

     @faithisleaping That summarizes things so well. I had ideas and plans. But in hindsight it felt like I was moved through life instead of doing so because I really want to.

     And the final kick-off to start to transition was, that I looked into the bathroom mirror one morning and thought: "I don't want to get old(er) like this!" No ideation of any kind here, just that I was not looking forward to it.

     I can not imagine how hard it must be to know exactly what you want and plan to not do it or be open about it. (🖤)
