i think i'll be able to meet a lot more people to be friends with in a less populated area than where i am currently
it feels counterintuitive to think of having more success with less people but i'm feeling really optimistic about it
in a sense i've already done this at a larger level (moving to south carolina as opposed to like, texas or something) but the more i reflect on the people i've gotten to know in this area, there's been a much more outsized "return" in areas that are beyond suburban areas

maybe should think about suburban areas as like an ocean shelf, because like right outside of when those end, there's all the really cool people i've met that aren't in the middle of raising children...

@shibao@misskey.bubbletea.dev suburban without the suburbia is where us cool queers considering moving to. we're genuinely looking at some of the suburbs of detroit just as hard as we're looking at places that don't even have electric much less running water.
