     I sure do miss the simplicity of *Free To Be You & Me* when I could just say, "Ha ha ha! The story of the Tender Sweet Young Thing is CORRECT! Putting makeup on is ANNOYING and I don't wanna' so I'm not gonna'! I'm a FEMINIST now wheeeee!!!"

     I think of it as more that people wanted to articulate divisions which already existed.

     Of course, I was all of four years old in 1970, so...

     I was genuinely shocked when I first encountered a separatist TERF in the wild. The feminist lesbians whose work I'd known of B4 that were very kindly, inclusive people. They remembered how they felt being pushed to play-act as straight by hetero feminists, and they weren't having that shit. [sigh]

     Yeah. It's different in a *Women & Economics*-style argument if you want to warn that Capitalism will leave us hamstrung by design in that traditional lifestyle if we find that the man we chose for a mate isn't much of a person.

     But Capitalism leaves women who seek/need wage work hamstrung, too. Just in a different way.
