    @JonChevreau

They should remove the tariffs and let us decide what we want to buy.

Feel like it is important that people can discuss issues without it "hurting Biden." Perhaps we need a shorthand way of saying that whatever angst we have with this or that matter, it is nothing compared to the terror and dread that a Trump victory and the impending demise of democracy in favor of a fascist kleptocracy inspires.

I feel like it's important to keep fascists from ending democracy perhaps most of all.

You keep bringing up Tesla. You do know that they do produce cars in the USA don't you?

Anyways, I trust that Joe Biden made the best decision he could regarding the law on Section 301 tariffs. I also know that all of this criticism of Joe Biden I'm seeing on my timeline is helping to give Donald Trump a better chance to win this fall so I'm trying to do what I can to tamp down some of the criticism that leads to low voter turnout.

That doesn’t matter anymore. We are losing the economic war with China.
Before we punish the regular people any farther we should reign in the billionaires club that is making their fortunes all over the world, including China.
Musk and Buffett being the ones in focus here.

Why can’t Musk create 19,000 jobs in America……. That’s what he is doing in China right now.

I won’t “do as they say not as they do” any longer.

Musk and Buffett make cars in China, why can't we buy cars from China.

All the jobs they are creating there, could of been American jobs...

"Tesla’s workforce expansion at Gigafactory Shanghai in China will grow the electric automaker’s “new model production area” by 50%, from 6,000 to 9,000 employees. When the expansion plan is complete, Tesla will employ 19,000 workers at the facility."

We should put tariffs on Teslas too lol

Exactly, although I'd use the term weapons of war just to not give moderate Republicans a reason to tune out without hearing the arguments.

As to EVs, the problem with leaving it up to consumers based on my experience is that they will almost all choose the ones that are cheaper because they are produced without environmental regulations and using slave labor which will put over a million American autoworkers out of work

Let developing economies have the cheap goods I say

That will just make things worse for the average American.
I support Biden as well, but when I see the Billionaires club making billions by manufacturing cars and whatever else in China, then at the same time laying American workers off while they are dramaticly increasing the labor force of Chinese companies it just peeves me off.
I want to be the one who decides what I buy, not some politician or billionaire.

I support unions, jobs, and protecting our national security so I support Joe Biden.

“After considering my advice, President Biden is directing me to take further action to encourage the elimination of the People’s Republic of China’s unfair technology transfer-related policies and practices that continue to burden U.S. commerce and harm American workers and businesses,” said Ambassador Katherine Tai.
