   I'm really into the psychology behind people losing big sums with "investing".
   
   without knowing too much yet, I think most comes from people knowing not enough either but discovering really risky strategies like options, using lent money.
   
   they are hunting for that first rush of winning shown as the first spike. but with each loss they must win back more so choose riskier bets. it's a downward spiral.

     @kaia @icedquinn @lucy ETFs are great, but they're also too stable. Calling something gambling because you don't know how to do it is rather.. funny. You might just say that driving is gambling my life for an increase in transportation speed and comfort.
     Another example would be starting a business..
     Market Research and practice is key. It's not gambling if you know what you're doing.

     I made 150% yesterday with a wallstreetbet for 150 EUR and my first impulse was to try it again with 1000 EUR, but I stopped myself. I would have lost 65% today.

     @kaia I think a lot of it also has to do with coping things will get better?

     The price goes down a bit and they refuse to sell because "it'll go up again".
     And if they sell now, they won't be there to cash out when it goes up.

     So it keeps going down but they keep telling themselves that it'll go up eventually... Until they have basically lost it all.
