   Thunderstorm burned 2 ports on my home router today. Not looking forward to replacing it. A speciality box with 4 ports is probably more than $1k today. For now, I rigged USB adapters.

     @zaitcev a storm wrecked my switch too, I had two small ones chained together and one died so I just moved things around. I need to replace both of them with a single bigger one I have just sitting around

     Also, my gigabit Ethernet switch died (I suspect it was the culprit in fact). I replaced it with the 100base-T switch seen in the photo for now.

     @sun Well technically I have one sitting around too, I have an old Cisco SG-200. But my wife is talking about visiting MicroCenter next Saturday when we're in Houston. Getting a switch is a good excuse.
