     I mostly just self host ... I run my own e-mail server too... do not recommend. 😩

     @veff @Pawlicker I've begun to completely reject any free service. I pay for email hosting, I pay for a VPS to host most other services I need, I pay for independent media publications, I pay for a VPN, etc. The entire "get free gibs in exchange for ur data" economy needs to be stomped out like an unwanted lit cigarette.

     @prettygood @Pawlicker It'd be one thing if it was switching off windows for the first time, but google? There are service suites that work the exact same way for free and don't require learning anything new.

     @Pawlicker my post was prompted by someone's long rambling blog post that amounted to "Google sucks now!" and complaints about "high switching costs" because they ignored the first twenty signs that Google was shit and kept tying their whole life to it.
