     Oof, advertising dark patterns in full swing!

     I've used Android since 1.5 Cupcake, and even back then I was trying to root the device to remove bloatware and bullshit restrictions. I don't think I could survive using an iPhone.

     The dream would be something like a PinePhone as an actual competitor, but a Linux phone with banking apps, HD Netflix and a functioning camera still seem a decade off.

     @EccTM I don’t know, they do some things really well, but other things are horrible (the constant upselling, and I think my eyes dislike the screen).

     I’ll be using this iPhone 12 while I wait for a fix for my old phone or find a better one, unless I decide to convince the friend I’m borrowing it from to sell it to me (what’ll happen if I decide I like iPhones).

     @kainisenni I never really bothered with LineageOS, I swapped from CyanogenMod to Resurrection Remix instead when CM scuttled itself with dreams of printing its own money.

     RR had loads of weird features like On-The-Go mode, a 50% transparent camera overlay so you didn't have to take your eyes off your phone while walking lol

     @EccTM A stable and actually usable Linux phone is the dream yeah. LOS felt tolerable to me but I’ve had so much shit with it that I’m just done.
