     it was a bit heavier but i didn't mind very much

     i switched from a cat-less aftermarket to a stock exhaust when i bought my used CBR250R.

     250s sound a heck of a lot different tone-wise than a literbike with s8rs.
     
     Granted mine does sound like a dumptruck at idle

     (spares bike has the aftermarket one, but the ZZR is already plenty loud)

     It's almost as if the engineers put them there for a reason.
     
     Any time you introduce a change to a previously complete system it can causes big problems sometimes. Playing with the balance is half the fun in my opinion.

     @Ariri @Rocc @dokuja @izaya @purple @shibao Imagine how dumb I felt after learning that the plastic rivets have a little button in the middle for releasing them, after I did all of the disassembly work. :blobfoxdeadinside:

     I’ll put it all back together in the morning, because the instructions said to tighten the flange nuts again after letting the bike run for a half hour. :blobfoxgoogly:

     @Ariri @Rocc @dokuja @izaya @purple @shibao Also, the kit came with an extension (?) cable for the O2 sensor that I didn't end up needing because the stock cable was plenty fine for it. :blobfoxconfused:
     
     Oh, and all of the photos in the instructions were of a CBR650F so I had to figure out bolt and rivet locations the hard way. :blobfoxupsidedown:

     1. Fairings look cool and provide a comfy spot for the rider, but are a huge pain when doing engine work.
     2. The radiator on (most) water-cooled bikes is always in the way when doing exhaust work.
     3. Bungee cords are very helpful for holding things out of the way.
