~The law reduces the number of voting machines at every polling location and allows one machine for every 250 voters~

After digging a bit, that seems to reduce the number of voting machines in use by almost 2,000 and increase the number of voters per machine from ~234 (in 2022) to 250 now*

@dalfen we constantly see an unbalanced distribution of machines as well. That number per machine is likely a statewide average. Republicans have been up to that trick all my life

      A thought—

#Georgia might justify decreasing the total number of voting machines (and increasing the number of voters per machine) because polling locations have been reduced.

Here is an example of polling location reduction in rural Georgia.

      But—

The total number of active voters in Georgia has INCREASED.

So, there will be more people waiting for fewer machines, which could lead to longer lines.

      Recent #Georgia law also:

🔻Makes it more challenging for the unhoused to vote

🔻 Reduces (from 90 to 45) the number of days before a federal election that a voter can be removed from the voting roll, going against federal law

🔻 Expands “probable cause” reasons for voters to be taken off voter rolls

(Note: In 2021, Georgia law went into effect to allow voters to officially question other voters’ legitimacy.)
