   Dear !lazyfed,
   how the hell do I write and send a plain-text email using Thunderbird? Is there a "new plain-text email" button that I'm not seeing?

     @morph I tried that, but the UI still displayed all of the HTML formatting tools and the text I entered was behaving like the default HTML in thunderbird.
     
     I did find a solution: hold the "shift" key while click the "new message" button.
