     @kirby someone did this on an old tech forum I used to be on. Lasted like a year before one of the hard drives and they kept fucking up the recovery until even a professional recovery company couldn’t get much back. Then they ghosted the forum and everyone was out whatever they paid

     @kirby I remember now they kept trying fix the drive with fsck because they blew all the money they got to run the service in vacations and shit so they couldn’t afford the professional recovery service

     @kirby yeah they had no idea what they were doing. if I remember correctly didn’t have a business bank account or a credit line or anything.
     
     I don’t think there was a legal action taken against them.
