@MadrePappagallo @HeliRides3000 @demonofustio Scratch offs are way less boring than slot machines. The trick is doing them at home as an occasional "treat" like for a birthday or Christmas party. That way everybody can watch and make jokes about what they want you to buy if you hit big. We spend maybe $50-100 a year on them around holidays.

I used to know an Assyrian man in the Shitcago burbs that spent all his time at the gas station buying scratch offs. All the locals started calling him "Scratchy" This man actually figured out which ones were winners. I think he said every 5 scratch offs or so were winners. He was an interesting fella when he wasn't going off on insane rants about the position of the sun.
