@evan is this a prediction statement or a statement of hope?

When I make statements of hope, I usually say things like "I hope..." or "Hopefully...".

Jan Ainali (ainali@social.coop)'s status on Tuesday, 07-May-2024 01:14:45 JST Jan Ainali @evan Thanks for specifying! To explain my thought process, to me, any statement about the future is open-ended unless specified (unless talking about something unavoidable). "I predict.." seems as likely as "I hope.." in such cases to me. In social media specifically, I also find that people more often talk about what they want to happen than what they think is likely to happen.
