   HWANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nobody knows who Hwang is. Not even people who play Soul Calibur know who he is. In fact, I forgot he even existed until I was thinking about the roster earlier today. So, what so forgettable about him? His designs are basic. But, he is anything but simple. A combination Shaolin monk style martial artist mixed with romanticized and highly stylized Chinese sword play leaves us one of the greatest all rounders in the entire roster. He is the middle man. Reach, speed, flourish, technical depth, and simple chunk damage vs combos. There isn't a single place he comes up short in. And, despite the old adage a jack of all trades is a master of none. He is more than capable of meeting any of the specialists in their preferred domains. Later games would see similarly named men replace him or have him come back with an interesting HP/Magic system in SC6. Which, I unfortunately haven't had much of a chance to play around with yet. But, he is probably the best example how there is no weak link in the Soul Calubur lineup.

     it was how incredibly retarded that specific weapon was that made it memorable, except it seems to have been memory holed because I remember reading about it
     
     it'd be like if searching earspoon suddenly didn't return any polearm results, which at the rate the internet is going will probably be the case
     
     (yes, stupid melee weapons are a special autism interest of mine)

     @brigrammer Strangely enough he's actually Italian. A sort of magical creation by the late House of Medici. He was an assassin that worked for them and then later guarded their treasure vault, the infamous Treasure Island of great fame. In design he's a bondage gimp with an acrobatic fighting style and knives. He's fun to use, but suffers from a few issues that keep in from being one of my favorites.

     @doonxib I remember him having jurs, and then when I tried to look them up to ensure I was spelling jurs correctly, the search engine decided that they weren't a real thing and gaslit me until I checked the SC wiki to see jurs are a thing
     
     now I am wondering why I can't search for jurs on the internet and there is no descriptions of this weird weapon anywhere is confusing me more than how this could possibly be Italian

     @brigrammer Try the term "push dagger" instead. Include "Indian" if you want to see the proper one. People rarely remember accurate names of things. Assigning their own, freely.
